Long story short: I tore my meniscus. The orthopedist said that dancing is the "worst"- who would have thought that?? The planting and pivoting motion apparently twists something inside. So, I need to have arthroscopic surgery to clean up the mess I made of my knee. Of course, this is the same knee I had the ACL reconstruction done on in 2006, so I am pretty paranoid about limited knee mobility, pain, rehab, etc. The doctor swears that this is MUCH less invasive and I will be walking without difficulty within a week.
3 weeks ago, I got a cortisone injection into the knee which made it feel a lot better. But last week, it started to wear off, and I realized that I really needed to get the surgery scheduled. After looking at my schedule for the next couple of months, I figured I could have the surgery either the end of May or ....this week. So, I am opting for this week, March 13.
My anxiety level is pretty high...
I'll keep you all posted!
